Volunteer Opportunities
The Mountain Homeless Coalition is always seeking neighbors to help us with our mission of serving those at risk of homelessness and those who are homeless. Here are some ways in which you can help us or our mountain clients:

TRANSPORT clients to shelters, DMV, medical appointments, job interviews, food banks. (Clean background and DMV check and proof of insurance required.)

ARRANGE for a MHC presentation at your service club, church, or other organization.

VOLUNTEER to help with a fundraiser for Mountain Homeless Coalition.

Under the direction of one of our Housing Navigators, WORK ONE-ON-ONE with a client to complete paperwork for a Drivers’ License, food programs, or MediCal.

ASSIST a client with packing and moving from one location to another.

TRANSPORT donated furniture or household items to client housing.

COLLECT AND POST announcements to our Social Media sites.

ASSIST the Housing Committee with seasonal maintenance of rental units.

COMING SOON: Assist clients at a laundromat once a week. We’ll provide the detergent and quarters, you will assist the client and discuss life and other felt needs and find ways to encourage them.

ASSIST our grant writer with grant writing and research.

COLLECT money from Donation Boxes in our communities.

HELP with occasional needs such as stuffing backpacks and food bags, folding Resource Directories, posting flyers. (appropriate for a local youth group such as boys scouts or church youth group)

HELP US COUNT the homeless population on the mountain during the annual Point-In-Time-Count (late January each year).

JOIN our volunteer phone "operators" team to direct callers to resources for assistance (training provided).
