MHC Volunteer Opportunities
MHC is always seeking energetic neighbors to help us with our mission of serving those at risk of homelessness and those who are homeless.
Here are ways in which you can help us and our clients:

Monitor print and electronic media for local available rental homes, rooms, apartments and maintain a list of rentals appropriate for our clients. Send the list to notify our Housing Committee Chair twice a month or as updated.

Monitor print and electronic media for job opportunities for our clients.

Write a resume for a client.

Distribute our Resource Directory to areas where homeless individuals congregate.

Arrange for an MHC presentation at your service club, church, or other organization.

Under the direction of one of our Housing Navigators, work one on one with a client to complete paperwork for a Drivers’ License, food programs, SSI, MediCal.

Assist a client with packing and moving from one location to another.

Write stories and articles about MHC, its Board Members, staff, and clients and submit them to our Executive Director for publication consideration.

Assist with a website refresh.

Assist with occasional needs such as stuffing backpacks and food bags, folding Resource Directories, posting flyers. (appropriate for a local youth group such as Boy/Girls Scouts or church youth group)

Assist our grant writer with grant writing and research.

Assist the Housing Committee with the maintenance of rental units.

Assist the School Committee with their Student Food Program.

Collect money from Donation Boxes throughout our communities.
